This piece is my attempt to create a visual depiction of the song with the same title. This song, which was passed on from generation to generation in my family, speaks of love and hope during the time of war. The tableau involves artifacts from family history, sculpted glass jewelry and a bird that cannot fly. It is built with humble materials.
